If the White House were involved at this board, they would undoubtedly float Trial Balloons, like the Gay Marriage Amendment Ban, etc. Just gonna let the real balloons go even if they are received like the plague.
Gilchrist is Nuts.
Quote Gilchrist:
\"There are other races to look at, including one at Hollywood Park, but the timing is good, six weeks from the Aristides, to come back to Calder,\" Gilchrist said from Golden Gate Fields on Tuesday. \"And I\'m not really concerned with who else is coming. We\'ve always thrown our hat in the ring and said, \'This is where we\'re going,\' and it\'s up to the other people to decide whether they want to come or not. For the most part our decision will probably depend on the weights.\"
Greg, last year you ducked and dodged like a character from Dickenson\'s Oliver Twist. You ran against no one and stuck to 3YO conditional racing. Who are you trying to job?
\"When I ran the horse the first time this year, it was a very difficult situation for any trainer to be in,\" said Gilchrist. \"The whole day was built around Lost in the Fog, and I knew I was probably running a horse who was not where I wanted him to be for the race.
Really? Well next time start him in a conditional allowance and give him some bottom. Also try starting him up in February. \"Probaby was running a horse not where he should be\"? You dont\' know? or Still dodging?
\"He was a much different horse at Churchill Downs,\" said Gilchrist. \"A lot fitter. And as a result the outcome was a lot better. I really think he\'ll even be a better horse the next time. I still don\'t think I had him dead fit last weekend. It takes racing to get him back into his game. Now he should be ready to really rock and roll next time.\"
The outcome was better because he was more fit? You couldn\'t run Carthage down by yourself in 10 tries you deceiver. He\'ll give you weight and still cold cock you.
Gilchrist said that if all goes according to plan he will run Lost in the Fog just two or three more times before his ultimate goal, which is to gain a measure of redemption in the Breeders\' Cup.

Greg, a Barbaro racing schedule won\'t win you the Pot O\' Gold. You\'ve got to have a horse that can tote the load under open class pressure. Insulate yourself too much with picked spots and a light schedule and you won\'t get any closer to the fountain than Ponce de Leon.
This guy is only deluding one man. Well at least Harry is having some fun.
Do you google search LITF articles?? We\'ve heard this nonsense too many times.
Give it a rest already.
CTC-- Been trying to figure out who you remind me of....
Let\'s see... trying to get attention with personal attacks on public figures...
Got it. Ann Coulter.
How do you look in a mini-skirt?
Tread lightly here, I\'m 2 miles from ground zero.
My visual of Ctc was more like Michael Moorer in his faded old Ball Cap, but very much keeping with the personal attack of public figure theme.
My alter vision is a guy with his face painted white, a big red nose that squeaks, and puffy orange hair, with a big wide mouth..........one you putt your colored golf balls into............
NCT
My impression was more Howard Dean...
I\'m gonna beat Foggy at Churchill, I\'m gonna beat Foggy at Belmont and Calder and Golden Gate and I\'m gonna keep beating Foggy at Santa Anita and Saratoga YYYaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrghggggggggghhhhhhhhh............
lol
We all know a Chuckles.
Very little athletic ability, the dorky kid who still hung around the playground with his knee highs and sweatbands. Dribbled the ball off his foot a lot. Bad haircut matched only by his acne. Jealous of all the kids with talent.
Many years later he\'s still the dorky kid. Still yearning to be part of the in crowd. Still jealous of those with talent. Most of the acne is gone. Tries to make up for his athletic and social shortcomings by convincing himself he is so much smarter than everyone else. To boost his own ego, he denigrates others despite these people having superior talents. Life hasn\'t changed much.
He lives alone with his computer, wearing 3 day old clothes with crumbs on them, holes in his socks, the room is a mess, favorite food is frozen pizza, messy hair, Hansen Brothers style glasses, and a big red nose. But the nose is real, hence the selfglossed name of Clown.
BTW, dude I grew up with is named Harold. Is your real name Harold??
I would imagine , and this might be ctc\'c big break - somewhere in between dr no and nickleson in ez ryder , had he not got on the motorcycle ...

Nah, just very opinionated and very knowledgeable about this game. In the words of Muhammed Ali, \"I am the greatest\".
Ground Zero? Not sure of the reference. Ann Coulter is the ugliest woman I have ever seen. A cross between Herman Munster and Sandra Bernhardt. I\'m better looking in a mini skirt than she. Both figuratively and facially.
As for Gilchrist, I\'ve said my piece. The mano a mano exchange will come when he steps up.

Try a straight Richard Gere or that guy from the old Vidal Sassoon commericals with a very critical eye for the finest feminine form.

Only beaten Foggy once, will be him again. To beat him multiple times he has to step up more frequently.
His next race is graded with a $500,000 purse.
Most of his previous races were graded too. Too Much Bling is racing in the same race that LITF ran in last year. Should we expect some forthcoming criticisms for that one too??
CtC / Tabitha -
Like P-Dub, I\'m having some trouble figuring out what you think Gilchrist is doing wrong. How about posting the campaigns (ending with the BC Sprint) that you would map out for LITF and Too Much Bling if you owned and trained them?

Well, clearly in the eyes of the Media and the Eclipse Voters he has done nothing wrong. He went off in the Breeders Cup Sprint as the Odds On favorite. He ran a solid, though solidly defeated race for the first time against quality competition and still won champion sprinter honors. Mission accomplished, the Peter Principle was victorious through management. During the winning streak the betting public was hoodwinked as well and that is why the odds were so juicy to beat him B.C. Day.
If you\'re trying to win sprint honors isn\'t it a helluva lot easier to find soft spots to run in, win, and pad out your resume? In that regard Gilchrist has been a wizard. Hes the Merlin of the Mirage.
Now on the other hand, if you have a first class animal, you point him for the traditonal tests of excellence. Like the Met...er..Vet Mile. Theres no way Foggy is gonna win that thing and is it any surprise the B.C.Sprint Victor won the Vet? Foggy isn\'t in that class. Pure, plain and simple. Gilchrist is trying to position himself as the best without taking on the best. Personally I depise that and I consider Gilchrist a charlatan. Hear that Greg? We are calling you out to defend yourself. Run in the Forego, Vosburgh and B.C. Sprint. Run vs the best and then we can discuss a legitimate championship. Or hide like an Ostrich with its head in the sand. The choice is yours.
Too Much Bling will melt Foggy down and clear everyones vision. Bling is heading to the Woody Stephens right? Where oh where did Dodge Fogster go, oh where oh where will he be? With his schedule light and his rivals measured, oh where, oh where will he be?
P.S., Tony, its always been my personal belief that Sunriver was Pletchers best horse this year. Hes no lock on breeding to get the Belmont, but he\'s certainly not a horse to dismiss lightly. Stated earlier that rarely do full sibling of quality come along. This appears to be one.

Now, I know this is stepping into dangerous territory, but I agree with CTC... I may not have presented it the same way, but what he says is certainly defendable.
LITF had as beautifully managed a campaign as a 3 yo as could possibly be done. Ran in 3 yo sprints all year without mismanaging (like Pletcher) and forcing him into Triple Crown races. After dismissing the 3 yos, his prep for the BC isn\'t in a traditional race at SA, but a garbage \"made up\" race at BM. He travels east again for the BC, and gets roasted. Somehow, without beating a decent older horse, he wins an Eclipse.
Fast forward to 2006... first start in a garbage race where he gets outrun by a tough local horse. Trainer complains about too much travel, but sends him 2,000 miles to run in a marginally important race against G3/allowance horses, he wins, now we have to hear \"how he\'s back\". The excuse is they wanted to see how he would run over the track... pure garbage. Churchill in late spring/early summer isn\'t Churchill in early November. Instead, if he was really concerned about travel, he could have stayed home and run in a G3 for similar money... against the same horse that smoked him. BTW, that horse did win wire to wire (Carthage).
Now, he\'s shipping him 3,000 miles to Miami in the blast furnace heat and humidity of summer to run in a G2 race with an overinflated purse... why? Because the competition will be easy pickings. Last years top 3 were Woke Up Dreaming, Toscani, and Nightmare Affair. Most NY horses will be readying for SAR... again, why not take a easy flight to HOL and run in the 7f $300k G1 Triple Bend? So the travel excuse is garbage.
Fast forward to August... there should be one and only one race for him, the 7f $300k Pat O Brien at DMR 8/20 on Pacific Classic Day. Easy ship, good money, and tough competition where he will earn a lot of respect.
I compare LITF to Michelle Wie... lots of talent, great pub, but being rewarded for really accomplishing very little when you peel away the rind.
LITF ran in the very same last year that Bling is in this year.
Have to agree with you. I would like to see him run in these races too.
But my main argument was that last year, when CTC was blasting him, he announced well in advance where he would race. Many were terrific races (Riva Ridge, Kings Bishop, etc..)..
Its not his fault they ended up weak.
I can accept the Michelle Wie (I can\'t putt) with LITF analogy.
Maybe I\'ll fly into NY for the Belmont day Card after all...anyone else going?
NC Tony
I wish - but i\'m doing the Bris contest sat , hopefully I\'ll see you all in Vegas . How about those \'Caines nct tcb - bring on the scooner and la batts eyh , lord stanely\'s cup is coming to the carolina\'s ...
Ann Coulter (Egads) was actually looking quite cute the other night on Tucker Carlson\'s show. The venom queen actually has cute hair and a nice style for a conservative!
