www.drf.com Brother Derek, who finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, will undergo tests next week to determine if he should remain in training or be given a break, trainer Dan Hendricks said. The tests are expected to include a nuclear scan, which can detect hard-to-find problems, if any exist.
Sheesh why not just give him a vacation? He\'s had a number of hard races.
I feel bad for what happened to Dan Hendricks, the person.
As far as I\'m concerned, Dan Hendricks the trainer couldn\'t get a horse to take a dump.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
Brother Derek is a slightly new and improved version of Came Home. Only that one didn\'t get wheeled back for the Preakness.
BD will have a useful Western US campaign. He\'s just not really that good nor a champion
When BD was loading into the gate for the Preakness I told my girlfriend, this one finishes off the board...something is wrong...he was hurting.
Was I the only guy who saw the kidney sweat building throughout his warmup? This wasn\'t mere nervousness...he was way off.
They wouldn\'t do a nuclear scan if he wasn\'t hurt or showing serious discomfort. Xrays don\'t reveal very much beyond obvious fractures. He\'s got something else.

Fourth isn\'t exactly off the board. There was a superfecta and he had to be included.
The horse has a penchant for kidney sweating. He also broke poorly, maybe that was condition, but he did take a rap to the snoot.
He deserved some time off. He\'ll be back a lot sooner than Barbaro. Speaking of which, one more Barbaro story from the DRF or Bloodhorse and about ten thousand handicappers are going to founder.
CTC---
\"He\'ll be back sooner than Barbaro.\".......Man, that\'s cold.
Here\'s a prediction: From here on in, BROTHER DEREK wins as many more races as BARBARO.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
tha tis cold...the Brother Derek hat is going into the closet.
