Title: Okay Now
Post by: trifecta on June 19, 2002, 10:29:25 AM
TGAB&TGJB may be nice guys but Rags product is far superior. I challenge anyone to a contest. I know you people on here are going to post long idiotic post but either take the challenge or don\'t.

Lets Go.

TGJB, you do too much explaining.

Dude, Explain how Rags is \"far superior\" and please be specific. Or is this just your opinion?

What kind of a contest do you have in mind...a pie eating contest? An arm wrestling contest?  I\'m not too bright so before I accept your challenge I want to know what kind of a contest your talking about. Is this post long and idiotic enough for you? I Don\'t want you to change your perceptions of people on this board.

we just had a contest!!

where were you??

most of the Brown nosers busted out.

I think we were planning on another one mid-july(?), but I\'m sure you\'ll get some takers just about anytime.

format last time was $1000 bankroll, anything goes.

Hello Beau. The last contest was originally between myself and David Patent (you might know him from the SHEETS bulletin board) on Belmont Stakes Day. Others joined in. The winner was Nunzio, who I\'ve noticed posts on both boards with a final bankroll of about $2,500. Superf posted a positive ROI.

In the only \'contest\' that mattered to me, I bested Patent by something like $100. Patent then went on to post how great he actually did betting on things he neglected to figure out BEFORE the races. You can see both entries (here) and Patent\'s post-race redboard posts (on the SHEETS board).

I\'m sure you are a better handicapper than Patent. You would almost HAVE to be less of a jerk, so I\'m sure we can arrange something here (especially since it would be IMPOSSIBLE to do this on the SHEETS board). I think a bunch of people have mentioned July 13-14 at Saratoga. Given work commitments, I can\'t guarantee you that I personally could do it sooner, but that mid-July weekend sounds good. Others may be able to go at it sooner. I would add that I can\'t pick my nose at Saratoga, so I would expect to get whomped.

The contests are better than most of the other stuff here, so I\'m ready and thank you for bringing it up. HP

HP,

You know what is pretty funny ,  I usually
find myself going to the Rag Board when
this one gets to be too much of  pissing contest.  I much rather contribute here because at least when the dialogue is constructive, its educational.

Regarding SAR, its a tough meet due to
all the shippers.  Some barns point to the
meet exclusively & others are just there as part of the regular circuit.  One thing I
have noticed for sure about SAR;  pay special
attention to fresh horses that have some quality.  Another point worth noting is that
you can almost always find horse that
absolutely love that surface/water.
Remeber FourStarDave ?  Thats an obvious example but there are many many more.
On a more generalized note, I have noticed that while the track is drying out up there
(not when its sloppy) speed horses have a less than fair shot, especially in the 1 1/8
races.  Just keep this stuff in mind when that meet rolls around.
If this doesn\'t help, I\'ll share my thoughts on the fine art of nose-picking....;)

Nunzio,

The other board stinks too. I would rather read this one any day. What\'s up there now? The only handicapping related thing is about Spain and the bounce. There\'s something about a horse at AP that did nothing. A book dismissed by Robes (such a nice guy). The usual scintillating debate about drugs. A guy talking about how SHEETS guys look stupid at the track. No revelations and nothing you haven\'t heard a million times.

Everybody talks about what these boards should be, but there\'s nothing stopping anyone from talking about handicapping whenever they want, and it\'s easy enough to weed through them.

As for Saratoga, I\'ve gotten pasted and I go easy there, and I do well enough at Monmouth that I don\'t miss it.

Where\'s beau, the big challenger?

HP,

Speaking of MTH, I too do quite well there.
You can make some nice profits there immediately following significant rainfall.
When that track dry\'s out after a
significant rainfall.  Speed & the rail is golden.  Its been that way forever &
I have had alot of success on these days.

I agree the other board is pretty bad.
Its very much a differnt flavor of conversation over there.  I find it
pretty odd that no one ever criticizes
them to the degree that they criticize JB
here at times.  I guess thats because JB at least replies and doesn\'t wack the posts
off at the knees.

Good Luck & if you ever are planning a trip
to MTH, let me know, it might be fun.

Will do on MTH, but I\'ll be lucky to get down there once this year. HP

\"There\'s something about a horse at AP that did nothing.\"

\"DIXIE\'S BAND 120 (20-1): Co-slowest horse in the race (12 top). I\'ll invoke the \"if you like the line, forgive 1 off race (if nice odds)\" rule here. Vanier runner been inching forward since his return off long layoff. Surely bled in his distance race. Put on lasix, ran another small top approx eight weeks ago. Ran the dreaded \"one off the top\" next out, before a complete non-effort in his last. Timing perfect for a top effort, Harvey blazed him 102 2/5 in typical Vanier fashion five days ago. Put him on the choo-choo Chris.\"

so, running 3rd at 25-1 is what you call \"nothing\"?

no wonder you tanked that contest.

This from the SHEETS board.

\"I see the value of Vanier in the 2nd

: Spring Open

Dumb? Dumbfounded?

I\'m both

She sank to 5-1

And she sank\"

PLEASE learn to read. Regarding the 25-1 shot, I guess you do a lot of show betting or you had the top two for the tri. Does McLaughlin run many first time in the U.S. at AP. I won the contest I was interested in, thanks. Keep up the great posts. You look better every day.

what makes you think I was at the track?

what is it w/you and the continual bad assumptions?

as for the horse mixup, you said you had gone to the sheets board in search of handicapping posts, and I figured that there\'s no way even a near sighted old coot like you could miss that bigass one.
bifocals aren\'t working --- try the magnifying glass, inspector gadget.

I am very nearsighted. No mixup, a horse finished up the track and another was third at long odds. Like I said, they really tear it up over there.

I feel bad egging you on, since you\'ve reached out for help with the AA thing. If drinking is causing your fixation over here there is probably a meeting going on right now. HP

talk about glass houses...

you seem to spend an awful lot of time at a board that you have such disdain for.

Actually, this had nothing to do with you, I was replying to Nunzio, but you seem to feel compelled to get involved in every thread here. HP
