In tomorrow\'s DRF, none of the four selectors on what could be called Pim\'s \"home page\", pick Barbaro to win. Now I\'m not saying he\'s a mortal lock but if you\'re not impressed, both visually and number wise, with his Derby effort, then perhaps you don\'t know what you\'re looking at.
To paraphrase Freud, sometimes a cigar is a cigar (no reference to Billy Mott\'s horse).

It seems to be the inate nature of public handicappers to be contrarian in big races and be the guy who had lets say Volponi or Birdstone....ohhh that was me not them.
Anyway sometime you have to call a spade a spade even in this politically correct society we live in today.
Where is George Carlin when you need him.
BD is a Cal Bred for goodness sakes. And SNS the cut his nads off for a reason.

Exactly. Until that horse runs a first rate race east of the Mississippi, I\'m going to be dubious of him. I thought the California filly in the Black Eyed Susan was a good bet against at even money. I took Dale Romans\' filly. Dale Romans picked Norberto Arroyo. Migliore was listed to ride her.

I\'m really not sure what relevancy Freud has to this discussion. He\'s been widely discredited in the quasi science he broke the ground in. But if Freud really said that sometimes a cigar is not a penis, that had to make the headlines because everything else was one to him.
Barbaro was a good horse when he beat Great Point by a length or so. Barbaro was a good horse when he beat Sharp Humor by a neck or so. Barbaro was a good horse when won by open daylight in the Derby, but he won that race running upon the Giacomo Path. Sometimes a Cigar is just a Cigar, but sometimes a Big Win is not a Big Win. However 3-5 is ALWAYS 3-5, though I\'m sure that had sexual connotation to Freud too.
