Birdstone, Ten Most Wanted and Point Given all ran their first negative numbers in the Belmont.
As an aside... Empire Maker, 0 Fl Derby (6 top), 0.5 Wood, 0.25 Derby, 0.25 Belmont
There is not ONE SINGLE HORSE on this list who ran a new top negative number and did not regress. Smarty Jones is unique in that he paired negatives, but two points off his top, clearly the most consistent and fastest 3 yo ever.
Barbaro reminds me most of Funny Cide. FC was decently fast, jumped to a negative number in Preakness with a new 3 pt. top, then backed up to near original top in Belmont. Barbaro just has too big of a top into neg territory. This is what I most expect.
Bro Derek reminds me most of Empire Maker... establishing a fast steady level.
Even Afleet Alex had bounces off neg numbers of 12, 4.5, and 2.5 pts. SNS could establish a similar pattern if he bounces back to his -1 in the Preakness.
