after a quick look at the #\'s, i think i\'m going with bernardini. his page looks a lot like alydeed\'s did back in \'92 - a late start, two decent races, and a big 1m stakes run preceding the preakness. alydeed became somewhat of a wise guy horse, going off at 5-1, but ran a very good second. i\'m hoping for the same, or even better out of bernardini. he\'s got the perfect running style for this race, and is bred to stretch out.
i also like SNS. if you look at that \'92 preakness, SNS\'s page resembles that of pine bluff, who also tired late in the derby.
the most likely winner is still barbaro, but i will probably try and beat him on top, for all the reasons Jerry mentions in the seminar. i will not, however, be looking to beat barbaro in the belmont if he wins this.
bro derek is a tough call for me. i think he is good enough to run well here, but like barbaro, ran awful hard in a 10f race just two weeks ago. perfect running style, but i would need more than 3-1.
