Strange scene with Matz trying to select post 4 which was already taken, he kinda choked.Can\'t understand why he did not take post 2 and just follow Like Now out of there.Like Now is a dead send and has outrun all comers to the lead in his last 4-5 races.Unlike the bulky derby,it seems there is little chance of being buried down inside from post 2.

A tactical blunder,imo.

I didn\'t see the show, but followed some of the draw online.  I noticed that Brother Derek\'s connections opted inside rather than outside of Barbaro.  I assume that means either (a) they think he\'ll settle and take dirt in the face, or (b) they\'re sending, perhaps looking to track Like Now.  I suspect it\'s (b).

Watch out for LIKE NOW he might be able to clear and settle down and run his heart out.

Hey someone at TG looks like on the PIM card for Sat. you have race 12 as a 5T 75K race?

I think it is (b) as well.  If that is the case a three wide stalking trip looks likely for Barbaro, much like his Derby trip.  Like Now and Brother Derek are the Keyed Entry and Sinister Minister of the Derby targets for him.

At least we\'ll get to see a real horse race at Pimlico instead of the daytona 500 with steeds. After Saturday, there should be little doubt about the legitimacy of the top four contenders. The quality of the animals and the trips worked out by their all star jocks will come to fruition.

In another interesting side note, I caught this in today\'s National Speed Sport News - a weekly auto racing rag:

\"Barabaro\'s win in the 132nd Kentucky Derby could be a good omen for Scott Sharp. In two of the last three years, the winners of the Indianapolis 500 and Kentucky Derby have shared the same number. Funny Cide and Gil DeFerran shared the No. 6 in 2003 and Smarty Jones and Buddy Rice shared No. 15 in 2005. Barbaro wore No. 8 when he won this year\'s Derby, the same number as Scott Sharp\'s Dallara/Honda. The Derby and Indy 500 winners have shared the same number eight times.\"
