Title: I need a little advice
Post by: P-Dub on May 05, 2006, 08:25:39 PM
I have Lemons Forever in the Double to 6 horses:

Sweetnorthernsaint, Barbaro, Bob And John, AP Warrior, Private Vow, Bluegrass Cat.

2 are paying around 850-900, 2 are paying around 1400-1500, 2 are paying around 3500.

What kind of saver win/exacta bets, if any,  would you suggest?? I would hate to win nothing with a $96 horse. Thanks for the help guys....

Nice play P-Dub!

Personally I would hedge to Brother Derek at the price he\'s being offered and let it ride otherwise, unless there is a horse that you really like that you don\'t have in the double.

Make your wager match your opinion, and hope for the best. You\'re in great shape.

Everytime I\'ve EVER hedged my bets, I won the original bet. Never once has it worked. If you are that good, man, you probably don\'t need to. Besides, you got Bob and John and AP Warrior, my main derby horses! OK, I suppose if I were you, I might bet something to win on Point Determined, I think he\'s the only real (or possible anyway) contender with real value you have left out. My only question was how much did you bet??? Good Luck Man!

figure out the one remaining horse that you\'d really hate losing to the most ( for what ever reason ) , and maybe do something w/ him . this might  be a situation where dilution can\'t be the worse thing . you managed your money well yesterday and are betting w/ the house\'s money today - how can you go wrong ...

He hasn\'t cashed yet, but to make that bet means he had some pretty good insight. Sticking with it is probably wise. To hedge theres about 3 horses to fear. If I had that ticket and could substitute 3 i\'d trade Private Vow, A.P. Warrior and Bluegrass Cat for Showing Up, Lawyer Ron and Sinister Minister.

Dana666,

I have each for 2 bucks. I played Ermine and a couple others Oaks horses a few more times with these, but Lemon was so long just played her smaller.

I\'ll probably make a few win bets with some of those horses, especially the longer ones that CTC mentioned.

Hope you all have a great day....
