Title: Those Illinois Derby numbers again...
Post by: JohnTChance on April 30, 2006, 02:02:45 PM
MISTER TRIESTER ran an excellent, game race yesterday to be 3rd in the Derby Trial.

The horror trip: MISTER TRIESTER broke a bit slow, was bumped by PROTAGONUS, then squeezed back when R LOYAL MAN came out. Spotting the field lengths [two? four?], he \"settled 4 wide, inched up on the turn, came out 6 wide for the drive and rallied to miss by about 2 lengths. It was, to say the least, a \"better-than-looked\" performance.

I suspect the Illinois Derby ThoroGraphs will be amended to be faster. I look forward to how Jerry sees it.

John-- I did that day out of order, he got 5 1/4 with an OP. I\'m still thinking about it, I\'m going to look at it on Tue or Wed before we do the final run. Tough call.

As far as SNS, I would point out that even if it was a 4 point jump, his pattern would be a whole lot different than that of SM, or the jumpers last year.
