That is scary as all hell.  Just one more thing a horseplayer needs to worry about when his/her key horse fails to fire.  It is an unjust game.

And, although Simpatico Bribon was chalky, I still feel sorry for anybody who bet the horse.  When I want chalky horses to lose, I want them to lose fair and square.  In the long run, cheating benefits nobody even those who may inadvertantly cash a ticket as a result of the cheating.

Is Discreet Cats\' performance now tarnished?  Both southern hemisphere 4yo\'s were legit contenders going into the race with Simpatico the horse to beat-only one point slower than Discreet Cat\'s 1x out 2yo fig., and 2nd fastest, on TG figs. The undefeated Gold for Sale was only a couple of points slower. on TG figs. and 2nd fastest on timeform behind only Simpatico.  Nevertheless Discreet Cat paired his monster 2yo top and is in that group of multiple derby horses, Jerry mentioned, who have all run tops in a very tight range. The announcement from Godolphin about Discreet Cat\'s next start should come this weekend.
