Hello JohnTChance, could you please post this on the forum for me?
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is with a heavy heart, that I bring sad news that on Thursday,
February 16th,
friend and fellow handicapper... Gvido Bocka (bdhsheets), passed away.
I learned something everytime I read his posts, and always appreciated
his passion for the game. A gentleman of absolute integrity,
his voice on our forum boards will be greatly missed. Rest in peace,
old friend.
I also will miss bdhsheets. I thought he was a knowledgeable and sincere handicapper.
Puts things into perspective.

CTC,
While I agree that Big Cap day figs are subject to debate, I feel that High Limits performance yesterday has little to do with confirming or debunking(sp) the TG fig HL ran on Big Cap day.I stongly felt, going in, that HL was distance challanged and obviously regressed. To me, this does not mean that he did not run the negative figure awarded by TG on Big Cap day.
On the other hand, a very serious question is the fig assigned to Bob and John on Big Cap Day especially when looking at the TG figs awarded to the 3yr olds in the FOY yesterday. Several of them had equal or better TG Figs than Bob and John\'s 5 TG fig, however it is noteworthy that Beyer, Rags and two other fig makers had Bob and John faster than all of these 3yr olds except for First S.
Of course all of the TG figs were earned at different tracks under different circumstances so only time will tell...

Agree that the distance worked against High Limit, but you have to evaluate the S.A. Handicap performances of ALL the horses that came out of the Strub. Did they all bounce?
This isn\'t complete theory on my part. I reviewed these races very carefully and staked out positions upon them. It doesn\'t mean I\'m right. You can always win due to luck and in this game its always better to be lucky than good. Sometimes though, you can make your luck.
I had corresponded with this nice man, many times in past years.
He was truly an integrous guy.
RIP,bdhsheets.
