I have yet to read any posts on either board regarding the total failure of Perfect Drift, a horse who was given the best chance of running well, not necessarily winning but at least not \"x\"ing. Does anyone have an opinion? Was he injured?
I posted the question on the other board and I\'ll post it here: Andy Beyer was negative on the spacing of Perfect Drift\'s races coming into the Belmont. He said that the history of horses without a race between the Derby and the Belmont was horrible. I don\'t have any history on this. Does anyone else believe that this is significant?
Looking at the red board room at the Bel, i looked and saw that PD had a 0-2-? coming into this race. Why was he liked by so many in sheetville??
w/the amount of time off between races, I didn\'t read him as having any pattern.
once a horse starts taking 6 weeks off between races, the pattern analysis becomes a little pointless.
I can\'t speak for any others, but as for myself (a Sheet player), I\'ll repost this from The Sheets board:

I\'ve seen a lot about this horse ever since his spiral, and he\'s always been a question for me.
now, I see some talk about him in the belmont, and I see him as just as big a question mark.
I\'d probably have to use him in the belmont, just on number power, but I\'d like your read on his line (I\'m neutral).
he\'s got 5 and 6 week breaks, which I feel kind of nullifies any short term patterns, and I\'m really not crazy about his derby number.
it seems a few sheet players here like his line, so I was just wondeing what your take was.
I suppose I\'d just peg him at another 5 w/a little ground loss, which just makes him another horse in the race.

Not unless there was another reason for the layoff (injury) we don\'t know about.
2 races in the last 11 weeks!!!!!!
