Title: Aq Marathon Race 8
Post by: richiebee on December 31, 2005, 10:13:59 AM
Interesting that this race has drawn entrants from Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina. I am looking for Pletcher\'s Navesink River to bounce at a short price, much the same as Carminooch did earlier in the week.

Tough beat for yesterday\'s Analysis selection, Coined for Success, who looked to have broken the feature race open at 10/1. That sub 24 second third quarter may have been a bit ambitious.

A live trip to AQ tomorrow for the calendar giveaway, the only giveaway I \"spin\" for. I have avoided AQ since opening day, when I realized that they had closed off the third floor of the Grandstand. As such there is no acceptable vantage point from which to watch the races live, through the binoculars (the sightlines from the second floor of the clubhouse are not acceptable). Until there is a suitable place to watch races from, NYRA has lost me to Pinnacle.

Happy New Year and best of luck to all, especially new Thoro- users.

Richiebee,
The third-floor grandstand is still open. You have to go up through the clubhouse and walk thorugh the Manhattan Terrace restaurant. They\'ve cordoned off about half of the inside but all of the outside walkway/viewing areas are still open (and there is still plenty of room inside too).

Slak:

Thank you for the update. On Opening Day, there was a barrier at the Grandstand side of the Manhattan Terrace, with absolutely no access to the Grandstand. I guess others were upset at the lack of access to a good \"crow\'s nest\".
