Just watched the BC CLASSIC that took place a few weeks after 9-11. When Durkin screams out....\"and TIZNOW wins it for America\" I swear, chills go up and down your spine.
PS: It\'s scary how the Euros handle those sweeping turns at Belmont and then explode in the lane.

I agree with you on that call. I remember hearing it the first time. I didn\'t have a dime on Tiznow and had tapped out after losing the first 7 BC races that day and didn\'t even have a bet in the Classic, but that call was great. As you said, it gave chills.
There are some other classic calls that I remember as well in the BC. I believe the Alysheba/ferdinand race had a great call.
As for the euros being scary, they sure are at Belmont. If you remember that day though, there was an EXTREME outside closers bias on the track, at least from my perspective. The wide sweeping move was the winning move all day long. That certainly helped the Euros cause.
The 98\' BC was one of the best when AWESOME AGAIN won, and Tom D. called it right on the nose \" A wild finish to the classic\" you had 4 horse spread out running toward the wire and SWAIN so close to the grandstand you could almost reach out and touch him. I wacth these races at less every other day for the past 3 weeks now. My question is why doesn\'t CD get the BC at less every other 3rd year( I know I live in Louisville ). They break all records when holding it there. My wife and I will be going next year, going to try and get good seats for it. I went in 2000 but I was on the backside, it was great I got some trainer\'s to sign some of my sheets.
