Title: H? Question
Post by: Silver Charm on October 06, 2005, 05:46:31 PM
Since there may be as many as two horses (Borrego and Saint Liam) coming into the Classic with the H? designation I have a question.

Could Mandown run a query of how many horses who have received that Trackman notation that ran a New Top, Paired, Off\'ed, or X\'ed next out. This would be the entire population of runners, not specific to anyone category ie-colts, filly\'s, etc. In no way shape or form would or should the results be viewed as poor judgement by the trackman if in fact they turn up slightly negative or even neutral

You could incorporate the results as part of your Breeders Cup Package.

Looking forward to your answer and the Breeders Cup Package with or without the above included.

SC-- I talked to George, and he\'s working on some other stuff that we have to have done by pre-entries. If I haven\'t posted about this by then, ask me again middle of next week.

Will do and I am guessing this may be a little bit of difficult query to write so sorry if I am giving Mandown more of headache than he faces everyday just by having to work with you guys. lol

Seriously I do think it could be relevant to know considering: 1) Two of the Three Top Choices will probably be entering the race off the symbol and 2) The risk of a less sophisticated TG user placing possibly to heavy of a reliance on it and and possibly making a large foolish wager.

This has always been one of my favorite symbols but to your point just because it looked like he ran easy doesn\'t mean it was not a taxing effort. I seem to remember Affirmed Success coming into the Sprint a few years back off back-to-back H? efforts (both at 7 furlongs and on off tracks). The H? didn\'t get him beat it was probably the opening quarter Reraise carved out that he tried to track since it wasn\'t something he had to deal with going 7. Regardless he took my money down with him.

Incidentally there were two horses who ran in the recent Lanes End off H? efforts. One who appeared fast enough to win who was nowhere to be found, and another who was not fast enough to win, got bet down to favoritism and ran third.
