Title: Figure Making Question for TG
Post by: Dealers Choice on October 04, 2005, 07:59:26 AM
Does TGJB make the figures for all tracks?  If the answer is no, what tracks does he do and what tracks do his assistants do?

Thank you in advance.

In general, I do figures for the major tracks-- NYRA, New Jersey, Maryland, Florida majors, FG, OP, Chicago, Southern California, Delaware, Kentucky. Greg (with me since day one), Paul and Nick (de-programmed ex-Ragozin figure makers) do the others. We do all tracks by \"projection method\" (using the horses, not pars), and for those tracks we do not have an observer for, we both use a very sophisticated computer program to break down the chart positions, and check the results horse by horse against the Equibase chart comments.

Anyone know what are the ROI\'s of (a large sample of) horses segregated by the parameter of how wide they ran over two turns.

e.g. this sort of thing...

1w1w 79.0%
1w2w 78.7%
..
..
1w4w 78.4%
..
..
4w1w 78.1%

..except with the correct figures ;-)

PE,

I love studies like that. By looking at win the percentages and ROI (increase/decrease) with and without certain information included it can tell you if incremental information is adding any handicapping and betting value to your core information.
