Theres a few things in it that are notable if true. The first is how devoted Tim Ritchey is to Alex and how discerning he was to discover the injury so early. He didn\'t leave his side during the operation. I wonder how many trainers do that.
The second item of note was the density of Alex\'s bone. Interesting if true.
keep my eye on Watchmakers rated division leaders, just to help insure I\'\'ve factored some he mentions. In that regard the following:
3-YEAR-OLD COLTS
1 - Afleet Alex
Absence of top 3yo is really felt now
2 - Bellamy Road
Huge second in Travers off long layoff
3 - Flower Alley (5)
Bellamy Road will be tougher next time
4 - Roman Ruler

First point is in regard to Roman Ruler. The implication is that he ran poorly. Not sure the figures will indicate that. If Alley ran a 110 Beyer, Bellamania had to be in the 105 range, that would put RR at about 100 or so. Maybe the weight and distance caused the slip of 3 lengths and not a bad effort.
I\'m curious as to what TGraph scored the race, (My guess is pretty close to a Haskell pair), but I\'ve already factored it myself and that knowledge can wait for the Red Board.
Apparently Watchmaker is still sold on Bellamania\'s 121 Beyer. Regardless, it sure seems like Flower Alley should be rated above Bellamania.
