Title: saratoga tickets
Post by: RICH on July 18, 2005, 06:41:07 AM
Hi

I remember a thread on this a few years back. How can I get a couple of tickets for aug 11 for me and my son. Are they all sold out? I am driving up that morning. Thanks

Rich,

Last year I had luck on EBAY at very close to face value. Also Call the track they still might have some. Sometimes the track sells same day tix at 10:00am day of race and some people sell tickets outside if they have extra.

Unsold seat tickets and \"Sun Seat\" tickets for the current day go on sale each raceday at 8 a.m. at the Reserved Seat Booth located at Gate A (Union Avenue) and are available the night before from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs. (Tickets are available at 7 a.m. on Travers Day.) Limit four per person. Cash only. Ticket price does not include admission.

Rich: If you haven\'t secured any tickets at this point, I would suggest the following: Go to the Union Avenue Gate at around 12 noon on Aug. 11 and hang out around the reserved ticket window. This is the location where people sell their excess tickets for that day. This area is subject to undercover security to ensure that tickets are sold at face value. Try to get clubhouse reserve seats. If none are immediately available, buy grandstand tickets. Put them in your pocket and continue to search for clubhouse tickets. Once you secure the clubhouse tickets, you become a seller of your recently purchased grandstand tickets.

Tip: Be sharp eyed and dash to anyone who is flashing tickets to sell. Also, don\'t despair if your not immediately successful. The best time to get tickets in this fashion is between 12:30 and 12:50.

This advise is being given by someone with decades of Spa experience.

P.S. I have never failed to get tickets this way (even on Travers Day).

Good Luck,

Albany
