Title: The Breeding Industry must love these results
Post by: Thehoarsehorseplayer on May 09, 2005, 01:29:03 PM
The stud fees paid for the services of the sires of the first four finishers in this year\'s Kentucky Derby.

Giacomo (home bred) $15,000

Closing Argument    $ 6,000

Afleet Alex         $ 5,000

Don\'t Get Mad       $12,500

Makes you want to run out and pay $200,000 to cover your mare, doesn\'t it?

I mean, when the top two favorites in the race are both sired by $5,000 stallions is it unreasonable to expect that the race might fall apart?

My bet in the Derby was Afleet Alex and Bandini (boxed) over Giacomo and Don\'t Get Mad (boxed) in the tri and super.  Last time I ever use a horse like Bandini with a $150,000 sire in a big race like this.

lol

Paying those huge stud fees is the biggest waste ever.

Bandini still has a future if hes not done. They vetted him they were so concerned.
