Title: Derby Betting?
Post by: Wrongly on May 09, 2005, 05:40:33 AM
Dis anyone find the odds strange this year?  The odds on all the long shots held from Friday right up to the derby. What I mean is none of the long shots moved up from 50-1 to 100-1. So as the money came in on all the top horses, OTHER money was coming in and betting all the longshots. Also interesting was that this money was not being reflected in the exotics.

The Derby is the one race a year where everyone, including those that know nothing about horseracing, try to get a bet down. Numbers are played like the lottery and cute names are bet. (Sorry PDUB)

Its the single best race of the year to make good scores on. Even the two favorites, last year the favorites ran 1 - 2 and the perfecta was 65 bucks. The very logical Tri 1000. The Superfecta 41,000

All I had was win and perfecta, but the point is that generally to win the Derby all you have to do is select the winner. (This year was something else..lol)The payouts are better than any other race of the year.
