For those of you that don\'t mind taking a conservative approach in such a wide open affair, the SHOW POOL (yes the SHOW POOL) is usually wildly inefficient for the Derby because of all the $2 betters that flood that pool in thoughtless ways.
You can often get very significant overlays on short to moderatly prices horses that you feel confident will fire a big race. That goes double when one or more short priced horses are of the \"all or nothing\" variety like this year.
