The big two are Afleet Alex and Wilco....Is there a man so bold as to say these two will not be in the superfecta?
two horses won\'t be in the super...roger/wilko and roger\'s out of town

What\'s the excitement with WILKO?? I cannot begin to tell you how many people at my job (the one time a year betting folks) like this horse.
His numbers indicate he would need to improve quite a bit just to hit the board. Looks like he\'s developed as much as he\'s going to develop, at least for now.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
Why do you say he\'s developed as much as he\'s going to? He just got back to his 2yo top last out. Third off the layoff. He should move up. If his jockey figures out which rail is the inside he could hit the board!
Go Little Wilko Go!
HP
Wilko hasn\'t been right since the Breeders Cup Juvenile.
They ran him on a quarter crack they discovered a day before the Hollywood Futurity. Unconscionable.
His pedigree is questionable and the distance a factor But he\'s got the potential to improve 1.5 points on trip alone. (should say 3 lengths) They\'ve been running a short horse.
Another bothersome horse is Giacomo. That S.O.B. is suddenly working up a storm.
They would appear overmatched, but the regression factor with the heavy heads makes you wonder if some of these bombers won\'t sneak in. They usually do.

Chuckles,
Questionable pedigree? You want questionable pedigree look at Bellamy Road. Dont forget Awesome Again whupped Concerto!
Giacomo can work up a tornado for all I care...

I just cannot get excited about the Cal 3 yos. They look a cut below going 2 turns.
You will certainly be rewarded if you end up being right. GIACOMO will be telephone numbers.
Good Luck,

HP,
I don\'t think Bellamy Road has a questionable pedigree for 1 1/4. Concerto wasn\'t top class, but he wasn\'t distance challenged.
Besides, look at pedigrees of the last three winners. All of them had sires that were milers. The classic \"distance pedigree\" is less of a factor in the derby the last few years.
Jim,
I\'m just goofing with Chuckles since Wilko\'s dad poured the whip-ass on Bellamy\'s dad. I know less about pedigree than I do about...handicapping in general!

HP, Wilko may have a bit more to his breeding than meets the eye. His maternal grandsire Indian Ridge has gotten cream milers and has at least one running in good company at 12 marks. Indian Ridge is considered a \"Chef de Race\", so hes a very close pedigree influence. Its hard to review his get because of unfamiliarity with the distance of the European races. Wilko is his dam\'s first foal, so what shes passing on genetically is yet to be determined. Wilko is obviously a good one. Tap on Wood won Group I at a mile. The high dosage (Infinity) on his dam side is quizzical. Perhaps its because all the points are in the one class. But that dosage sure appears to be skewed. If someone thought he female side was a little light, you\'re right Awesome Again won at the distance himself and has sired top company for the distance.

Hard to say Wilkos race results are screaming \"give me more ground\" but if you believe his best is yet to come theres no reason to not back him on breeding. I\'m just not sure theres a reason to either. He\'s giving good vibes and appears to be sitting on his best one.

Ctc,
Forget the pedigree. He\'s by Awesome Again, sire of Ghost Zapper. I\'m sure the pedigree ologists have not caught up yet. Throw Dosage out the window (if that\'s what you are considering) in this one\'s case.
Btw Good luck in the Derby Oaks....

No, the dosage is interesting, but it can\'t be taken seriously. The issue is the lack of near pedigree female family production. However his dam side if rife with European influence that American handicappers may not recognize. Though it is certainly tilted to shorter distances.
Wilko is a grinder. Not real fast -early middle or late. His chances of hitting the bottom of the super are strictly post position related IMO.If he gets an inside post and can get carried around the track he has a chance.Outside post-toss him-he\'s not quick enough to get over and save ground-dead meat.
I suppose he can improve based on his being over the foot issues, but he still has no gears which is really what you need in this kind of race.
I thought he showed some gear in the Juvenile down the stretch. Maybe It was the other backing up to him. depends on what you think you saw.
