I was at the simulcast for the Ark Derby and after AA crossed the wire I watched the gallop out and a horse closed very strongly and passed him ( I think)galloping out very strongly. I think it was Andromedas Hero but here is the dilema. I just got the past performance and the horse ( A Hero) didnt close any ground in the stretch. Ive tried to watch the replay but they dont show the gallop out on internet replays. Anyway it looked like a horse that would like added distance but I cant figure out the chart?
Am I thinking too hard or was there something there that I saw (or didnt see)
Thanks

\"Still not quite there, but keeps galloping out like a wild horse. Somehow managed to pass Afleet Alex pulling up. Had an inside trip and nowhere to run on the turn. In traffic in upper stretch and was just starting to run in final yards. \"
Very Interesting comment , Could Zito have a cold Superfecta? This is really shaping up to be a remarkable derby.
...or could it be a \"chaos\" Derby, with NONE of Zito\'s colts in the top 3? Do you think theres a prop bet on this somewhere?
There is a prop bet out there on \"will Zito be the derby winning trainer\".
The odds opened at -150 on the \"yes\" side before Sun King\'s performance in the Bluegrass.
Right now the \"no\" is favored at -120, with yes at +110.
But nothing on will Zito finish out of the money.
Is this a plus for AH or a minus for AFLEET ALEX?
Pull-ups can be deceiving since many of them are at the discretion of the jock. I watched the replay of the ARK DRBY and was not impressed with AH\'s turn move. I do not see where he had nowhere to go on the turn, I just think they moved away from him.
He does close impressively in the stretch, relative to everyone besides AA, which only implies he may beat FLOWER ALLEY in Kentucky.
Still looks too slow for this bunch but I wouldn\'t be shocked if he rounded out a triple or super.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
AH is slow as molasses, and he couldn\'t overcome minor traffic trouble in the ARK-what\'s he gonna do when he finds real trouble in a 20 horse field? Couldn\'t make up ground on a drifting Flower Alley.Bad bunch of slow horses that ran underneath AA at Oaklawn-maybe worse than the SA plodders.
Andromedas best are 5\'s, won\'t finish last; that duel will be between Going Wild and Spanish Chestnut
I know his figures arent close but this horse itches at me filling out the super at say 60-1. Todays comments keep me itching

The clocker said your horse passed Afleet Alex after the wire.....
