Title: a fixed loss, or too hot coffee?
Post by: shanahan on April 20, 2005, 05:10:28 PM
the lawsuit from Mr. Mota in the Sweet Catomine incident raises all kinds of questions, and the story is getting ugly for our sport with Wygod retiring what was 3 weeks ago a favorite for the Derby!
My first reaction is...it happens, get over it...but on second thought - I can\'t get over it.  It\'s different than the guy who sues McDonalds for spilling hot coffee on himself, or is it? Perhaps Jeff Mullins should train for Wygod, eh?

The only physical issue they revealed previously was bleeding through lasix and the foot issue. I\'m eager to hear the retirement explanation.

I think the guy who is suing about SC is trying to make a point, and I don\'t disagree with him. As I said in that letter to the editor a few months ago, one of the biggest problems in our game is that those running the show think they are dealing with problems of perception, rather than actual problems. California has been acting this way for a long time, and they are getting ripped to shreds out there now for it. Maybe some good will come from it, hopefully before they lose their customer base.

By the way, if you want a real eye opener, do a search for that McDonalds coffee case. It makes for a good punch line, but you won\'t believe what you find-- there was nothing frivolous about the suit, McD\'s got off easy.
