Title: You Suck
Post by: jaho on May 19, 2002, 02:26:52 PM
Ok...Here is the reality. You suck. You picked one $6 winner on your analysis Derby day then had the nerve to brag about the score you made, which of course was not included in the picks you sold. Then you made a laughing stock of yourself yesterday at Pimlico failing to pick a winner the entire card and worse...failing to be close. We bought your vermin sheets and picks for Preakness yesterday and Belmont today. You and your sheets are ridiculous. Look at Tom\'s Thunder on your sheets in today\'s race 3 at Belmont. A total throwout right. He wins. Look at Longenot in Pimlico\'s last race Saturday. Can\'t lose or at the minumum can\'t NOT run well. Nowhere. You suck. Good luck to anyone who is dumb enough to use them. I won\'t be fooled again!

First let me say that T.G.did not make a laughing stock out of it self yesterday. If you look in the red board room on any given day the picks are terrible,I\'m not sure if they take turns in their selections or not but if they bet using tmem they all must be in the poor house. But their is know buying winners the sheets do work but nobody uses them the same. You have know one to blame but yourself make your own selections and stop crying.

I\'m gonna side with \"James Howard\" on his main point...

If you CAN\'T show a profit making selections, then you shouldn\'t offer such a service.  It gives a negative impression that your product and/or methodology is faulty.

On the flipside, it\'s not fair to judge anything by one or two days worth of results.  Good/logical selections dump all the time.  That\'s gonna happen with any method out there...

Derby...  I agree with J.H. again.  It\'s not right to make positive comments on such a high number of horses, and then toot your horn for being the genius who \"picked\" the winner.

Jim did make a good point though.  If the service doesn\'t win, then don\'t use it.  And if you really feel it\'s SOOOOOOO terrible that the selections will almost never win, then use it as an elimination factor.

Oh, and no crying about how you \"have\" to make 5 selections (or whatever) for each track you do the analysis for.  *Idea...  Why not make spot selections covering ALL playable tracks for that day?  Most people are major simulcast players anyway.

All in all, I am 100% certain that TG figures are vastly superior to any other that I have seen.  All you have to do is go to the Redboard Room, and compare the results.  Add in all the breeding and trainer/jock data, and it\'s a very useful product.

But it makes you wonder...  If the \"experts\" who MAKE the figures can\'t even come CLOSE to showing a profit with them, then how can anyone else???

You sound like that cry baby on the other board who went to great lengths to bash me on everything I have ever posted. Wonk, wonk, wonk. Do your own handicapping and quit being a leech. Its revolting.

You couldn\'t be more correct if the guys making these numbers can\'t come up with winners how can anyone else. The bottom line is that they sit chili in the office and people buy their seminors every year and when the triple crown races are over we kick are self in the ass because we pass on are own selections and all the money goes to the T.G. office. This is a very hard game nobody gets to see the backside like i do.If the average horse player seen the physical condition of some of the horses they may not ever bet again. We could talk forever about all the crap the bottom line is horses are a mystery and their is know answer.

First off, I\'ll admit to being the guy who went into a tirade about a month ago about how lousy the TG sheets are. But upon further reflection, I realized it wasn\'t the Sheets that sucked... it was the ANALYSIS that came with the sheets! The reason I was losing is because I read the analysis and actually assumed that the one doing them knew a little more than I did... well you know what they say about when you ass-u-me. Anyway I started to ignore the analysis totally, and ended up making nice scores on both the Derby Trial and the Lone Star Derby (thanks!). Then after the race I would go back and read the so-called experts\' analysis and no doubt I wouldn\'t have bet them if I had read them before the race. So I\'ll make this suggestion so you won\'t look stupid in the future:
1. Hire analysts who actually know how to read the sheets!
2. And who also know how to combine sheet information with other relevant factors.
If you can\'t do that then don\'t even bother giving analysis because you\'re only gonna shoot yourself in the foot and make yourselves look bad while costing your readers money in the process. Of course you can ignore what I say and continue to let those idiots make their selections and then deal with flamers coming here and screaming about how bad you \"suck\".

Your off base pal, I checked the RBR on yesterdays race you refered to. The horse displayed a very nice pattern, didn\'t he just go back to his 3yr old top. A foward move was coming, look at the competition. A few were faster, but most sported suspect lines (big tops, etc.) I don\'t know what he paid, but it was not a \"no chance\". You really need a bit more practice using the sheets before you make blanket statements. I been doing this over 5 yrs, always learning. Nothing is ever easy. good luck.

I must defend TG and JB; remember gang,
horses (and the humans who control them)
are not machines. Furthermore, when new medication \"cocktails\" appear, the form
cycles go way out of wack! It has been
well documented of late that certain
trainers have been using an \"assortment\"
of anti-bleed and anti-inflammatory drugs
together, and have resulted in a marked
improvement in performance.

While this is nothing new, one can\'t help
but notice some dramatic form reversals
(some well-bet, I may add!) by some
verrrry high-profile guys; makes me wonder
what these \"drugs\" are masking. Will this
sport ever get uniform regulations??
