Nobody impressed me a real lot visually, but this was the deeper and tougher race than the Santa Catalina.
Good race for Bandini first time against real horses.

I agree. I was visually impressed with BANDINI. Looks like a colt with a terrific future...a bit green right now but still has time to put it all together.
I preferred the FOY over the Santa Anita race, but can\'t take anything away from Declan. Looking fwd. to GOING WILD\'s next race....I believe the inside part of Santa Anita was not the place to be on Saturday, but I\'ll leave the final say to TGJB and his crew.
Good Luck,
Joe B.

Interesting. I\'ll review the charts and see what I think. When I saw the race, I assumed he had a reasonable trip and didn\'t run all that well. Thanks for the heads up. I gave him a chance to pull off the upset and was disappointed in how he ran.
23.05, 46.33, 1:10.87, 1:35.69, 2:01.20
23.51, 46.89, 1:10.85, 1:35.88, 1:42.41
The top fractions are from Grade I older animals. The bottom fractions maturing 3 year olds. Granted theres pace issues with the different distances. Going into the race, Going Wild\'s chances of pulling the upset seemed iffy at best. He had to overcome Spanish Chestnut and then hold off DeClans. It got even worse for him, because he broke poorly, ran half rank into the first turn and was behind the other two until he found a seam to push his nose in. He wore down Chestnut, but DeClan\'s ran the professional race he\'s always run and took his measure late. Even then it wasn\'t easy and if that race goes another mark, I wouldn\'t want to be holding odds on tickets on the winner.
That race was a pass. He\'ll get him next time.

Looked like Stevens set the trap for Bejarano and he went for it. I was curious as to why GS did not go to the rail with Spanish Chestnut, opting to stay several paths off and leaving the inside open. Now I think I know why.
And then there\'s Espinoza staying wide the whole way with DM. Noticed same thing with Baze\'s ride on CONGRATS. Snatched him way back early to get him off the inside and stayed wide on the backstretch too.
If I\'m right, we then also have to upgrade the performance of Lundy\'s Liability.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
JoeB..i\'m only lookn at the one day, but your theory seems to have some evidence supporting it.
Very Interesting.
JB,
I\'m not familiar with a lot of the horses that ran at SA that day, but I reviewed the charts and I agree that it looks like a bad rail day. It certainly wasn\'t a disadvantage to be outside. Thanks again.

Hope it turns out profitable. Lukas already committed to the SA Derby. If the filly and Declan are also going, price on GOING WILD s/b square.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
