Title: HOST
Post by: jbelfior on January 31, 2005, 01:36:17 PM
Am I going crazy, or did this horse win on December 4th at Calder beating SILVER TREE and race was omitted in DRF and other PP\'s if I might add.???

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I think that was a different Host, from another country.  I could be wrong, but I thought that as soon as I looked at the PPs, and those weren\'t the PPs of that Host.

beyerguy... you are correct... I believe the other Host if a foreign bred, from Chile, and is trained by Pletcher. I think he won the Ft. Lauderdale earlier in the meet.

The other Host is a Chilean bred in the barn of Pletcher.  They\'re both turf stakes horses stabled at Palm Meadows.  I can\'t wait until they end up in the same race.  Very likely to happen within the next few weeks at GP.

A situation like this just happened at Santa Anita on January 22 (2nd race).  There was Stratus (FR) and Stratus (Chi) in the same race.  Denman referred to one as \"the Stratus with Patrick Valenzuela\" and the other as \"the Stratus with David Flores.\"  It was somewhat humorous to hear the racecall.

I can top that - I believe it was Bloodhorse who, in the race recap, cites the sire as HUSSONET (I know the breeder), who is the Chilean HOST...so to speak.
