Title: Rockport Harbor?
Post by: Chuckles_the_Clown2 on November 25, 2004, 10:05:27 AM
Rockport Harbor is looking like a formidible horse. The better he looks the more suspicious I\'m getting of Servis. Trainers go YEARS without getting a top class horse again. Shug hasn\'t had a colt runner since I don\'t know when and Servis is right back again?

Dosage is irrelevent, especially this age, but I admit I take note of it. Rockports is apparently 1.67. Thats low. I don\'t recognize his dam side much beyond the Copelan branch except way back to Bold Ruler and Viceregal:

He bought this one. I don\'t know, maybe after Smarty he knows what to look for. I can\'t stand this cheating so much I\'m getting paranoid.

You have to \"chill\" a little bit, Chuckles.  It really can\'t be so bad that every time we see a \"fast\" horse, the trainer must be cheating!!

That dosage seems strange to me.  I could be wrong, but I could have sworn that Copelan was a sprinter?  Anybody remember?

from what i remember, he won the sanford and the gd 1 fall 2 yr old race at bel. as a three yr old he won the fountain of youth, then weakened a bit in the fla derby and the blue grass. he was fast, but just a bit lighthearted. from what i have seen, his blood is producing quick horses, with only a few running well in big long distance races. purge is one of the few. the dosage of RH\'s dam is 11.0. i am quite sure the horse will not get the classic distances next year. the remsen, however, despite it\'s 9f distance, doesn\'t always go to future routers. sometimes it\'s the least of distance challenge horses that takes this race. i havn\'t looked at it yet though (having a tough time getting any info from my parents computer).

Copelan won some nice races to 8.5 marks. His daddy went longer (Tri Jet). Copelan got at least one prettty good runner in Recoup the Cash, who could stretch out on his best day. Where Rockport is solid is the top side. (At least in my opinion) However, I didn\'t do any real pedigree scrutiny. I think he\'ll get 9 marks with the two year olds. He\'s gonna be favored big is my guess. We\'ll see.

Title: CtC- Saint Liam?
Post by: jimbo66 on November 25, 2004, 08:53:11 PM
CtC,

I know you are skeptical of Ghostzapper and looking forward to betting against him.  Does that mean you are also downgrading Saint Liam\'s 2nd to Ghostzapper?  Thinking about going against S-Liam at short odds?

I would like to bet against Dutrow myself in this spot, but I don\'t know if anybody in the race can beat the Saint Liam that ran in the Woodward.  He figures pretty short odds though, so there will be value in finding somebody to beat him.

Ideas anybody?

Hey jimbo...i\'ve been thinking about the race for a couple days. I\'ll post some thoughts tomorrow when I have some numbers to go over. The Saint looks the horse to beat. By the way, I\'m giving credit to Ghostzapper for those neg sixes...its only the B.C. Classic result I find puzzling.

I am a little skeptical of the Ghostzapper/St Liam race. Both were very wide that day and I don\'t think it was particularly disadvantageous to be outside. So I believe the figure is slightly inflated from a ground loss perspective. On the flip side, they were brilliant from a pace perspective. I\'m not sure what that means for the betting because I could be right about the figure and ST Liam could still easily be best.

been two turns no less 9f
