Title: Ghostzapper
Post by: MO on October 29, 2004, 10:16:37 PM
I keep looking at these negative 6\'s. He hasn\'t run worse than a negative 4 in a year. He absolutely lays over this field and might not even be the favorite. It\'s times like this when 5-2 is a gift and you gotta take it.

You are correct, but 10 panels still remains the big question.

10F is a little bit of a question mark, but before I tapped out I\'d also watch how the Frankel horses are doing today. That\'s two ways he can lose.

Frankel has been dead all day, but 9-2 on Ghostzapper has to at least get you interested. :-)

I cashed, but had I waited a little longer to get the bet in I wouldn\'t have made the play. Taking 5-2 on Ghostzapper is no way to get slightly into the black for the day. :-) IMO, this exacta was pretty easy.

Ghostzapper was 4-1 on the far turn and paid just $7.00. There should be an investigation.

I respectfully disagree. Went to the window and he was 5/2 on the board.

Have to agree with Bdsheeets.  After opening 5-1 Ghostzapper slowly drifted down, but then did get punched from 7-2 to 5-2 in one click.  In a 10 million dollar win pool, that is a serious bet.  But he was the favorite in the double and pick 3 pool, so the final price was fair, reflecting that.

What is it with Frankel and the late money though.  Anybody notice that after opening 8-1, Midas Eyes also got unbelieveable late money, actually going off teh favorite in the Sprint.  Went from 9-2 to 7-2 as they went in the gate.  This isn\'t Ruidoso Downs, it takes real money to move the odds in a Breeders Cup race.

When I bet he was 9-2 with a couple of minutes left. I figured 7-2 was the worst case scenario. That was my minimum price. I was betting a little early all day because I was having a tough time getting through on the phone. I would not have played him at
5-2. I guess this makes up for the times I got a bet in and my selection lost at a short price. I made a few dollars on the day, but nothing worth talking about.

I also played Champali and Gold Storm in the Sprint and Culinary and Sis City in the Juvenile Filly.
