Title: Magnitude
Post by: jbelfior on February 15, 2025, 07:35:15 PM
Not sure I have ever seen a race by a 3yo colt in mid-February that came out of nowhere like this one today. Curious to see what the TG jump is. It was 29-points from his Beyer top.

Asmussen had that horse so fired up he would have still romped if Ben Franklin was on him.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

The question I have is he moved forward 5ts then reacted with a 4 pt drop.
Did he react do to the big move forward or did he hate the slop?

All I know is that he made a chalky P4 much better and I thank him for that

Mystic Dan did something like that last year, but the jump was not of that….

Magnitude.

MD has yet to get back to that figure.

Magnitude worked with Asmussen MSW winner Yinzer on February 2nd.   Yinzer earned an 85 Beyer in his wire-to-wire win earlier on the Risen Star Card.

Magnitude\'s mother Rockadelic was 0 for 1 for Motion as a 3yo.  She produced 3 other reported runners who are a combined 0 for 33. All three of those runners were by More Than Ready.

Magnitude\'s workout on January 6th was with Tiztastic who runs in the Rebel.  You might be interested to see how those two fared in that bullet workout at Fair Grounds.  It is on the Kentucky Workout Site for free (Kentuckybred.org) and with no login.  The Yinzer-Magnitude work is on there as well.  I\'ll let you make your own conclusions.

Last, I\'ll note that Randy Moss says this may be the fastest 1 1/8 miles by a 3yo ever at FG mentioning Clev Er Tell and recalling Badge of Silver.

Came out of nowhere as you said is Beyond Accurate for me.

I\'ll be very, very curious how Tiztastic runs on Saturday.

In the slop

Well there certainly were not a lot of Ben Franklins on him on Saturday as he went off at what 43-1? Fairgrounds has been anything but Fair to the Figure Makers this meet.

I avoided these disasters because my earlier preference of Cromwell was a disaster. Ms DeVaux still thinks this is going to be a decent horse it just might take a while. More ground etc and as the day went on the Track became more and more favorable to speed it appeared. She won 3 races on Saturday and she is a complete class act. And good Owners are taking notice.

The rail looked like it was the place to be. Built came off the rail and the second place horse dipped down to the rail and made up a bunch of ground to nip Built on the wire.

Need to watch the replays, but that was my initial observation. I saw an interview with the jock, Ben Curtis, who seemed to state that there as a bias.

And at the end of the day none of that matters.

Title: Magnitude Fig?
Post by: nolazag on February 18, 2025, 08:53:42 AM
I was looking forward to seeing his Risen Star fig on the sheets for LA Derby day, but it looks like he won\'t be entered for quite some time. Any chance we can get his fig for that blowout win?

Over/under -2.

Zero and 1/2. Choice was that or 3/4 point faster, this was slightly more likely.

Thanks.  Seems like a solid fig especially with the ground saved.

From the prior message above:

\"Magnitude\'s workout on January 6th was with Tiztastic who runs in the Rebel. You might be interested to see how those two fared in that bullet workout at Fair Grounds. and

\"I\'ll be very, very curious how Tiztastic runs on Saturday.\"

I was one race early in this post but I stuck with him again today b/c of the anticipated pace scenario of Hancock, Furio, and Yinzer . . .and . . . BOOM!!!!

Asmussen even mentioned the work with Magnitude in the post-race interview I think but it was a little hectic with trying to listen and commotion going on at Fairmount.

Shanahan, Ark Derby here I come!!
