Title: Vekoma
Post by: Silver Charm on September 15, 2024, 07:33:17 AM
Have to be really impressed with how this 1st Year Stallion has produced. 16 Maiden Winner\'s 12 of them 1st Time Starters.

For the record I never bet any of the 16 Maidens Winner\'s and I don\'t know if I ever bet Vekoma. So please no you Red Boarded bs.

What I do remember he was a pretty bad paddler but had ridiculous gate speed. I mean he out broke every field he ran against. Ran a Negative 5 and won the Carter and Met. Being out of Candy Ride maybe some progeny can stretch out.

Spendthrift will get this one to some better Mares. That Phil Bauer Rigney Stables 2YO who won the Iriquois yesterday looked good. Broke his maiden at Saratoga when he looped amd circled the field. Yesterday he gunned and left what probably an average bunch in his wake.

Just a reminder.

When referring to a son or daughter of a sire, They are \"by\" that sire.

\"Out of\" refers to the dam. To my mind it is incredibly easy to remember, as the foal literally comes out of its mother.

Vekoma is interesting in that he contains a double cross of Hoist The Flag. His (Vekoma\'s) fourth dam Lianga could really run. By Dancer\'s Image, she won 11 of 21 starts and was champion sprinter in France during her 4yo season (1975).

The second dam was by Linkage, by the aforementioned Hoist The Flag. He was good enough to win 11 of 18 starts, including the 1982 Blue Grass Stakes. While he didn\'t distinguish himself as a sire, many fine bloodlines contain the name of otherwise forgettable stallions. It is how they make their mark.

Thanks. I will try and do better.

This one who won the Iroquois last Saturday at Churchill is an Ohio bred out of an Indian Charlie dam. He has won twice coming from well off the pace and looping the field at Saratoga and now by going straight to the lead. Unlike say Sierra Leone who people keep betting over and over, he is multi dimensional. Will he get two turns at Keeneland in the Breeders Futurity? Remains to be seen. But that was a very respectable effort on Saturday for a 1st time Sire that is raising the eyebrows of a lot of smart people.

Correct me if I’m wrong I believe he has only run twice.
Gotta say I am fond of the name. Named after his son.

Yes. And he will not be running in the Breeders Futurty at Keeneland. He will train straight up to the Breeders Cup. A tall task.

Bauer races at Fairgrounds over the Winter. And they run a Mile and 70 yards.

Wholesale here with Chad Brown and Pratt. $200,000 purchase by Klaravich for a New York bred out of Smiling tiger dam with a slew of works.
