Title: IT Outages
Post by: Fairmount1 on July 21, 2024, 07:12:55 PM
How about these Microsoft patch issues with the airlines and other places of business, health care providers, people that work from home, 9-1-1 issues, etc etc etc?  Sounds like a major problem.

But hey, that modern technology never fails and it is just people not willing to adjust to the modern ways. ;)

I wonder if there would be another way to pay for things if computers shut down and couldn\'t take my card for payment of items at various places???  Hmmmm....

statuette,

Thanks for the reply.  I never said \"Cash Only\" was the way to go.

However, the whole \"cashless\" approach such as at Saratoga seems a bit ridiculous to me.  Some said on X/Twitter/here that they didn\'t understand the complaints from people about the new cashless approach at a Racetrack.  I just wanted to point out that cash still has utility at times like this when computers fail and it is my belief that businesses should generally still accept it for these type situations among other reasons.

Data is the new gold. Has anyone heard of Lexis Nexis?

They use these patterns for underwriting your credit and insurance.
