Title: Preakness Day Card
Post by: Silver Charm on May 18, 2024, 06:27:09 AM
Looks like 18 Scratches so far. The Gallorette has 4 horses with the 1 and 2 and 9 and 10 out.

The rain will clear out shortly. I don\'t know how quickly (if at all) the Main Track will dry out.

I kept falling into the hands of Mr. Irad Ortiz Jr when I was looking at these races last night which isn\'t necessarily good. No value. So I will look some more but he is aggressive. I don\'t like Prevalence in the Maryland Sprint. Too inconsistent. Super Chow stays in. Picks up JJ and likes it wet. But Prince of Jerico has me most intrigued. Gets 4-6 lbs from the 2 and 3. Ran 2nd here last year coming off a route. Good at the distance. Brittany Russell is the Queen of these Tracks. And I expect this son of Munnings to focus on Sprints this year. This is one of the more competitive races on the Card.

Saw a stat on the intranets this week that Irad was 1-22 going two turns on dirt at Pimlico.

Great point and someone else made the same point (wrongly). But there are only TWO Dirt Routes on the Card. Sir Barton and the Preakness.

I don\'t like Irad in the Sir Barton. Shug adds blinkers and he is there on the grounds. But this horse has no price. And he likes to take them back a little too much for my liking. However the blinkers do go on soooooo.

Mighty Message may be ready for a jump up. At least there is a price and with Tuscan Sky scratched could get a favorable stalking trip if he is good enough

I thought the 2 Real Macho was live at a price in the Sir Barton and now gets Prat.

Good luck!

I bought the sheets and analysis today. Great job on the 2nd race, that made my day profitable. I didn\'t hear anyone mention the Preakness winner before the race. I wouldn\'t have bet him with your money.  Frankly surprised he was only 9-1

It was a ratty field of horses. I wouldn’t have been surprised if any of them had won.

Hats off to the sheriff though. I’ve never been a Lukas fan from way back to D Wayne-off-the-plane but I’m happy for him. To get it done at 88 against the best in the business is quite a feat.

Who was the bigger head scratcher yesterday......Crabs & Beer or Seize the Gray?

Good Luck,

I liked Crabs and Beer but keyed Beatbox and lost.

C&B, although that was another race without any strong standout aside from Beatbox.
