Unconfirmed reports are coming out of Pimlico that the thermometer used to check the temperature on Muth upon arrival was manufactured by a company that just last week was purchased by CDI as a means of broadening their stock portfolio for investors.

Let\'s not forget that Muth Scratched from the Hopeful Stakes Labor Day. After shipping all the way there, Bob decided the distance wasn\'t right as I wrote about back then.

The results of that Hopeful Stakes:

Nutella Fella, 72 Beyer, 54-1.

All the rest of the horses had Beyers under 70 from trainers Cox, TAP, TAP, Baffert, Asmussen, Lukas, Asmussen, et al.

I\'ll be curious how this Preakness turns out.  I\'m leaning Chad but don\'t feel super strong about this race whatsoever.

Well after Pletcher had a Positive the year before with Forte, that was buried for about 6 months, maybe Baffert thought \"if TAP can get away with it, why not me\". Until he thought twice. Actually here is what he said and to your point AFTER he shipped all the way out there to Saratoga

“I was coming back a little quick and I looked at that [Hopeful] field and it’s salty,” Baffert said. “I want to run him two turns, I’m going to wait and give him a little more time.”

And thanks for reminding me of that Scratch. We had the Charlatin and Gamine positives on the same day at Oaklawn. In major Stakes races. And the Justify positive in the SA Derby that the CHRB buried for months. If not an entire year. He never would have been qualified for the Derby. Was he a fast horse? Absolutley. But thats not the point

If the Track is super sloppy the whole day is a downer. There will be some opportunities to make some money there and other Tracks. And Baffert still has another decent horse in the race. And a chance to extract \"revenge\" or make a \"statement\" to Churchill. But after they ordered Forte scratched two days before last years Derby and Fierceness finished 10 miles up the Track this year. Churchill could be sitting back and sayin \"See\".......

Your Problem Mr. Charm is that you are a stickler for ethical and lawful behavior! The criminal record on Botox Bob is so thorough that describing him as a recidivist does injustice to his consistency. Botox Bob is a habitual offender. He likely sickened that scratched horse. Don\'t believe a word he utters about cause and effect.

Spiking a fever can also be a symptom of EPO treatment.
