Title: Hay oats and water
Post by: Ace on November 04, 2023, 05:43:05 PM
Bill Mott wins all these races on hay oats and water, yet Tricky Dicky wins the Classic after a 10 year suspension. Lots of chalk today, not conducive to me winning money. Blah.

Chalky day but good races. No walkovers. Some good finishes.

Bottom fishing for bombs didn’t pay. Most of the races went true to form. Trips played a big role in a few. I never knew Euro jocks could do that rail move. Pretty clever cornering on August Rodin. Won him the race. Up to the Mark was the better horse.

Biggest surprise today was National Treasure. If Baffert wasn’t training horses he’d be building dragsters.

What an embarrassment for the California-based horses and trainers in the Cup races!

Not really. Generally speaking they didn’t have the best horses coming into the races. The results were true to form. National Treasure was a surprise.

Looks like both of those are off to the breeding shed.

Kind of amazing that less than a year ago, Up to the Mark was losing dirt races by 10 lengths. Goes to show that even a TAP is sometimes grasping at straws in this business.

When was the last turf horse that was G1 caliber at both 8F and 12F?
