Title: Geaux Rocket Ride - Broke Down During Live Works Show
Post by: Molesap on October 28, 2023, 09:25:46 AM
I was not watching, but he Geaux Rocket Ride broke down during a Breeders\' Cup works show. I was told the camera cut away fairly quickly but the person who was watching said it did not look good. Hate to see that the horse, connections and sport overall. We need a clean week or two in the sport and a chance to celebrate it.

Here is a Tweet from David Grening @DRFGrening:
Geaux Rocket Ride was pulled up at 1/8 pole of a workout on Santa Anita main track and has been helped onto the equine ambulance. More later on

According to the Paulick report he sustained an \'open condylar fracture with sesamoid ligament damage\'... IF it was an open fracture (through the skin) his chances are not good...

After an aborted work due to tender/sore feet and a fever, one would of thought that Dick Mandella would of pulled the plug, interesting what this does to the vet team. White Abarrio comes to mind, missed some works, had some hoof problems that the connections say were de to a shoeing issue, just like GRR. How many scratches are coming up this week?

and in the discussion for top 3 y/o not so much on accomplishments but ability and potential.  Reminds me of Colin Chapman and the origin of Lotus race cars he did anything and everything to make the cars lighter and lighter of course they broke and wrecked.
