Title: This Kitten is really a Tiger
Post by: Silver Charm on October 02, 2004, 08:46:54 PM
If he wins the BC Turf doesn\'t he deserve not only the Turf Eclipse Award but also the Three Year Old Title.

And if the big boys stumble in the Classic, Horse of the Year is also not out of the question.

And please don\'t give me this \"He\'s a grass horse baloney.\"

How many domestic races did All Along win when she won her\'s ???

Silver Charm---

I agree. The last 3yo male turf horse that was this good over a route of ground was MANILLA.

Should have known this after watching ARTIE SCHILLER last week. It\'s rare that you see many turf horses run off from their competition. (I spread over 4 in Turf Classic leaving out the 3yo while singling \'PICO and \'CIDE).

I think it will take an awfully good horse from Europe to deny KJ in the BC.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I knew he was real good when I saw him win inspite of a Six Wide Trip from Bailey on Ky Oaks Day. He may have been as consistently wide through-out the race as any horse I have ever seen. No Joke

He will be tough on BC Day but these wide no traffic trips he has been getting may not be in the cards that day or certainly so much the best that he can still win. I also disagree with Watchmakers premise that the 3 Year Old Title should go to only horses who competed in the Triple Crown or big races thereafter. I didn\'t realize the award was restricted, perhaps they should put an R in front of it, or at least on the Trophy.

However, he is a smart guy and as long as Steve Christ(sic) puts him in front of typewriter he is entitled to his opinion.

I was at Santa Anita the on the BC Day when  Manilla got up. It was one of those \"Game Performances\" that ranks right up there with Alysheba\'s Derby win, John Henry over The Bart in the Million. Santos aboard Manilla dropped the whip at the eighth pole and Stevens and Toro tried to put the ultimate hose job on him down the stretch.

Durkins call of \"There goes Estrapade\" still is ringing in my ears.

Keen observation on the wide turn aspect. Perhaps Belmont\'s course is more forgiving than KJ will face on BC day in Texas.

This could be a problem with some of the Euros. From what I\'ve heard of the turf course @ Lone Star, the athletic type of turf runner may have an advantage over the long striding galloper.

Perhaps Billy Mott was thinking of this when he sent over the 3yo STROLL last year to run at Lone Star. Now STROLL is a 4yo and looks quite interesting.

Good Luck,
Joe B.
