I just drove by Arlington around 30 minutes ago. It looks like they\'re still messing around with the main entrance on the grandstand side.

The pace is very slow. The Miracle Million demolition & construction was completed in a few weeks.

Pencil Neck: "Much like Mr. Duchossois, \'Against All Odds\' represents perseverance. May it serve as an inspiration to horses and humans alike that with courage and determination, what seems impossible can be achieved."

Well, I still hold out hope something positive will come of this, even though it seems \"impossible\" ... at this time.

Nobody seems interested in building a new track in Illinois ... at this time. That\'s what I have been told by my neighbor who is on the Illinois Racing Board. Will keep you posted if anything changes.

They have probably the best turf course in North America, they do not need to build one, just sell it to someone that wants to keep it for racing. The Bears are not moving there, why destroy it. Is that what Mr.D would want?

The Evil Empire covered all their bases. The new owners of Arlington Park are prohibited from conducting any gambling at that location .... as long as Churchill is associated with Rivers Casino. Not sure if that agreement would still be in place if the Bears decided to flip the property.

You\'re not that far off. Steinbrenner used to own Balmoral if I\'m not mistaken.

I used to be a big fan of the Yankees. I loved the team they had in the late 70\'s with Jackson, Munson, Nettles, etc. Oh, and how can I forget Louisiana Lightning? Didn\'t he go 25-3 one year?

One time I was walking around the Arlington Park backstretch looking for a job with my Yankee hat on. I came to this barn and asked if they needed help. I didn\'t say what kind of help because I thought it was obvious I was looking for a hotwalkers job because of my young age. Guy say, \"yeah, we need help.\"

The guy wants me to rub a 2yo .... a 2yo owned by George Steinbrenner. He says, \"make sure you wear that hat when Mr. Steinbrenner comes by for a visit.\" I\'m like WOW! That\'s cool.

I didn\'t make it that far. The 2yo was nuts, and I had no experience rubbing horses. It was a nightmare. A fun nightmare, I guess.

The trainer was a young dude by the name of Burch. Had red hair from what I remember. Paid me in cash because I was underage.

The name of the filly escapes me. I wanna say it was BABY DUCK. BABY something. A grey filly. 2yo\'s are nuts in general, but this one especially. I can\'t believe I didn\'t get hurt.
