Title: Wong (and Ward)
Post by: Fairmount1 on July 02, 2023, 11:58:34 AM
Wong in some trouble as many of you have probably already seen.

As noted in the article, Ward had two Metaformin positives. Coincidence.  Contamination.  Bad Luck.  Diabetes.  Take your pick of what you think.

Was wondering if TGJB has seen a change in figures, due in part to HIWU and the new rules? Are horses still moving up unexpectedly,  are suspicious trainers doing better or worse?

Too soon to tell. It's gonna take a while.

One would think with an immediate suspension, which basically sidelines the trainer indefinitely and causes them to disperse the barn, extra caution would be taken. Going to be some interesting data.

This is not a figure stat but might be one of note and one to pay attention to as Bel winds down and Sar starts up.

Rob Atras is 0 for 30 in the last 45 days.  Last winner was 46 days ago on May 18.  HISA went into effect on May 22.  (Approx. 41 days ago).  EDIT/ADDITION TO POST:  Prior to this poor run, he was 34 for 133, 25%+ in 2023.

There are a few others at smaller tracks that have win percentages that have went down I\'ve noticed including one in Illinois that is way overbet and has been one to attack by going against past month plus (many were odds on losses although I think the CRW teams are starting to see it also).  Overall though, I\'m honestly not sure if you can make any real connections here though yet.

Per Marcus Hersh on twitter, at Ellis Park, Asmussen won 12 of his last 22 races to end the meet.

Noticed the Atras & \"Illinois \" guy also. On a side note, Wong says it\'s contamination, Handal says same, one wonders how only one horse out of the barn gets a positive, if the feed was contaminated, don\'t all horses eat the feed?
And if your hands were covered in Metforin, wouldn\'t other horses get \"contaminated\"?

And Handal is \"shocked\"!
