Title: Question for team - Champaign final time?
Post by: bluechip21 on October 29, 2021, 03:55:26 AM
TGJB,

I have a question on the final time of the Champaign.

I know your team clocks races on their own when a situation warrants, but I see the final time you have listed for the Champaign as the official time noted on the equibase chart. Is the figure you gave this race (and the winner) based off the time noted in the chart and the sheet? Or was it based off of the hand time that you and your team presumably performed? Only reason I ask is because Other figure makers (Milkowski) have this race about a second and a half faster.

Many thanks.

Ummm...

So based on the time issue Beyer has the Champagne winner going forward the equivalent of 3 of our points, which was the point of the conversation, because we have him basically pairing up. They gave him the best 2yo figure of the last few years. I think I'm right but I understand how they got there.

Turns out Jake has the horse going BACK two points off his maiden win. And I have NO idea how they got there.

I've been trying to leave those guys alone, but man. They charge money for that stuff.

And while we are on the subject...

Not that I bet the race, let alone Golden Pal at a short price in a random event. But as far as I can tell EVERYONE but us got his last one at Kee wrong. That was a classic case of using judgement and breaking a race out, no matter what the teletimer said. It was the only turf sprint on the day, and if you did it with the turf routes it came up about 4 points slower. Beyer originally had it at 88, they moved it to 93, but I\'m guessing they will go back and make it even faster.

Jake had it as a 13.

Meanwhile, those who took the seminar and are paying attention should be noticing a pattern.

Other than Life Is Good and the ones who came a month early, , the dirt horses shipping from NY didn't fire.

Other than Echo Zulu on Friday, Asmussen had a horrible weekend. Weren't most of his horses out in Cali for 3-4 weeks?
