Title: Dunbar Road's Personal Ensign Trip
Post by: jbelfior on August 29, 2021, 06:43:11 AM
Not one that Flavian is likely to show the grandkids. Tremendous value play based on pattern of second off of the layoff numbers, being inside, and 118 pounds.

Who counts on an 8 wide turn move when you drew the rail with that pace? Can\'t wait to see her TG number.

Good Luck,
Joe B.

I debated if I should comment on this. Race riding is a weak spot for me.

But I watched the race and saw Prat save every inch of ground on the first turn. Commenced her rally outside of Bonny South early into the second turn and ran up behind Royal Flag, who wasn\'t moving as fast as she was at that point. Having good momentum at that point Prat really had no choice but to go outside that rival. The turn was almost over anyway, and the stretch is approaching.

Agree entering the stretch Dunbar was very wide, but I don\'t believe Flavien\'s ride cost her much if anything. Going inside always means possibly getting stopped.

Agree with your point about staying inside. Franco took that route with Bonny South and ran into enough trouble in deep stretch that it may have cost her the race.

Thought that Dunbar Road was moving better than her on the turn and in the stretch. The other issue I had with his ride is for some reason he switches the stick deep stretch and she idles and bears in. He switches back and she accelerates again. Too late at that point.

Moral of the story is stay away from inside posts on both surfaces up there unless you have speed. Only took me 5 weeks to figure it out.

Good Luck,
Joe B.
