Hopefully NYRA is interviewing candidates for his spot. He might be a perfectly nice guy but race calling is not his calling.
Interesting you say that. I noticed he got caught in a later turf race today giving the 1/4 time and should been on 3/4. For the most part I like him. I also liked Marshall Cassidy and felt Tom Durkin was the Goat. Larry Cohlmus, I thought just yelled too much. Back to Johnnie I, I find his calls direct, good tone and mostly flawless. I do think it makes a difference and you need a good one. Most are, then there are some who should call it quits as did Mike Battaglia.
They need to just give the job to Frank and call it a day.
When he calls my horse in front at the wire, I think he\'s doing a great job, but I\'m really disappointed in his call when he doesn\'t even mention my horse anywhere down the stretch.
Especially when he’s in the lead.
