Is it inappropriate to give out selections here? If not, I\'ll post mine for today\'s 8th, 9th, and 10th, a la Jerry Brown\'s pointing out how tough the sequence is. (it is)
Go for it.
Posting at 6:19. You finally found that speakeasy??

On the biggest days, even the boss comes to work early!
This one\'s very, very hard, but here goes, from race 8:
4, 6, 7 with 1, 3, 5, 7 with 1, 2, 9, 12
If any are scratched, so be it....don\'t add another.
I\'ll take a shot at it for grins, if not profit.
Went right back to bed.
As a public service announcement, the following are the horizontals available
in \"increments\" (JB\'s new favorite word) of four races and more:
R1 P5
R2 P4
R4 P5
R5 P4
R7 P6 (Gamine 1/5 ML in this race)
R8 P5
R9 P4
R10 P4
R11 P4
Wow.
I will select one of these horizontals to try to leverage the fact that I am
liking a colt at a bit of a price in race 10, the Churchill Downs Stakes at
7/8ths. I think TAP\'s BASIN has a decent chance to go off at ML of 8/1 or above
in this spot. He needs to produce a lifetime best to compete here and the T-
pattern is not overly favorable on this possibility (large sample). On the
other hand 2/2 at this distance and never out of the exacta in 5 one turn
races.
Because I am one of the posters on the board almost as old as Joe Biden (right
Heller?) I should really be a big Whitmore fan given his accomplishments at his
advanced age but I like him not a Whit spotting the entire field 5 pounds here.
Other thoughts:
Pat Day Mile: Like Defunded here for BB.
Derby: The runner that grew on me as week went on is Mandaloun, who was
progressing nicely before his odds on La. Derby stinker. Has not shown a TG
number fast enough to win this. Mandaloun\'s works on April 10 and April 17 say
he could be ready for something good today.
Tough sequence indeed.
8th- I think one of the two favs will run back to their top, which will take this. I\'ll be keying the 3&8 for this leg. Two horses who I think can jump up and make the exotics interesting are the 7&11. Take out the one route race and the 7 has a nice forward moving pattern. A new top probably doesn\'t take this, but he could sneak into the tri at double digits. Same with the 11. The turnback to one turn makes this one interesting at big odds.
9th- This is a headscratcher. Keying on the 1&5, as these are two of the faster ones who I have the most confidence in getting good trips. Will also use the 14 outside, as he has a nice pattern that should get him involved underneath if he can work out a trip.
10th- Despite having to use the old veteran Whitmore I will only do so defensively. For this race I\'m looking to key the two 4 years olds, who both look like a new top could be coming today. Basin\'s comeback was good and a forward move looks very likely. Same with the 4 horse. Expecting the 2 to run a good one and his top puts him right in the mix.
Key P3 3,8/1,5/3,5
Backup 3,7,8,11/1,5/3,5
Backup 3,8/1,5,14/3,5
Backup 3,8/1,5/2,3,5,9,12
Good Luck!
But will something good be good enough? His pattern isn’t enticing and there are many others that have run at least as fast.
Actually you could say at least half of the field has already run faster, but I
think the \"other Cox\" has a good chance at the tri or super. He would need to make
a decent forward move to accomplish this, agreed.
I teed off on Cox\'s filly (Travel Column) in the Oaks yesterday; she came up empty
under an aggressive Geroux, maybe I am wrong here again.
Travel Column went nuts on her way to the gate, and Pass The Champagne was wiped out twice in the first 100 yards.
8th - 3,8,11
9th - 1,7
10th - 2,5,7
Race 8-3
Race 9- all
Race 10- 9
Good luck
Took a shot with:
4w3,4,5,14w1,2,3,5,9,12
In Baffert I trust!
My ticket 5,7,11,12/all/2,3,10 good luck everyone!
I\'ll take a stab with 3,7 / 1,3,4,10,13,14 / 2,5,7,12,13
Nice pick n #7 Richiebee
