Title: NYRA
Post by: FrankD. on August 27, 2020, 09:35:29 AM
Today @ 11:39 they scratched the 5th race MTO’S while it was pouring and a weather map a clueless clown could read......

At 12:06 they took the 5th and 3 other races off the grass.

Their website lists the track as fast/firm with the 3rd on both the Mellon & inner  courses, the 6th on the inner and off the turf....

You could not possibly be more incompetent if you tried.

Frank. Agree 100%. I looked at Equibase to check out scratches and decided to buy the sheets and then we have this crap

Regarding the scratches of the MTOs during a heavy rainstorm, I thought the same thing. During the broadcast I caught bits of Maggie talking about just that. While I didn’t hear all of the explanation for it, she was addressing the reason. I don’t know if it’s on tape or if anyone heard the entire thing. If there is a reason, I’d like to hear it. She may have said something to do with the P5, but again I didn’t hear it clearly.

I heard what you heard, but did not fully understand it.  It had to do with the MTO\'s being part of an entry and bettors having to know which part(s) of an entry would be running.  It may be significant that, according to Frank D\'s post, the scratches were made just before 90 minutes before first post.  Does betting open 90 minutes before first post?  I don\'t know enough about the multirace betting rules to know what happens if part of an entry is scratched after betting on the sequence has begun.
