Title: New tops ?
Post by: Roman on August 21, 2020, 07:48:25 PM
Is there data available that shows a horse’s chance of bouncing after running a new top while achieving that new top while winning a race in hand, by open lengths, versus running a new top in a grueling effort in an all out drive?

Is a horse less likely to retreat if he wins in hand? Thoughts?

I feel like a new top is just that , regardless of the winning margin or the riders encouragement. Running fast is running fast. Any thoughts on Tiz the Laws next figure. Steve Haskin’s replacement thinks the effort in the Travers left some in the tank, according to the figures he listed, everyone excepts TG’s, so assuming he ran a new top last out.

I would suggest watching some of Jerry previous seminars in the archives then buying his take in two weeks.

As for me, I lost all enthusiasm at 4:30pm yesterday.  I kept telling my buddies it was going to be the best Derby ever.  No over running toilets, drunk girls puking in the walkways, and no lines at the tellers for last minute bets.  What a shame.
