Title: ENOLA GAY runs to her slow ThoroGraph...
Post by: JohnTChance on August 16, 2020, 03:16:01 PM
ENOLA GAY was given a fast Beyer in her last win, a Grade 2 at Keeneland… but a slow ThoroGraph for that race because she ran on the rail. Why in the world was this son of Uncle Mo bet 3/2 in today’s Saratoga Oaks? Did the Ragozins have it fast like the Beyers did? People were creaming over her. Why? Did Jerry have her last wrong? She was a total bet-against if you believed Jerry.

Ultimately, I’m glad to say, Jerry\'s slow figure was right on: ENOLA GAY was off-the-board. Distance alone got her. And I suspect she paired her slow TG number.

The 1 3/16 turf races up there tend to have a much different flow. The shorter distance turn of foot types usually are up against it versus a forwardly placed type.

Take them out of their best flow and you get Enola Gay and Decorated Invader results. Combine that with the slower TG numbers for both, and it\'s Christmas in August.

Btw-the first two in the Saturday race were impressive, especially the runner up.

Good Luck,
