Title: Thousand Words Eye Popping Beyer
Post by: Agastache on August 02, 2020, 11:56:53 AM
Thousand Words ran a 104 Beyer yesterday at Del Mar. Maybe a -1 TG or so? I would estimate that if this number is accurate, then all members of the quartet earned a new top, including Honor A. P., who certainly didn’t look like he was at his best, but was 2 paths outside the winner the entire journey.

In addition, the 3rd and 4th place finishers would have had to make significant leaps, as well as they were defeated by the winner by less than 2 lengths.

Yeah, they clearly based it off of the allowance race with some more experienced horses - the winner had a big last out number.

That race as a bit oddly run for a dirt race.  The leader into the final 1/16th ran pretty evenly, slowing down progressively before finishing 3rd.  The top two though slowed down with the leader, instead of running right by earlier on.  The winner\'s last three 1/16ths were faster than the previous three.

Honor A.P. finished well, but the horse that suprised me most was Kiss Today Goodbye, who finished even better.

The horse had a 4 in February and had good workouts per Andy Harrington.
