Title: Virtual Race
Post by: jbelfior on May 03, 2020, 08:13:13 AM
A couple of observations:

Cruguet(or was that Cordero?)should have spurted away with Slew after the 1:11. 3/5.

Victor Espinoza should never be allowed to ride another virtual race.

When did the hood come off of Secretariat and why were the bettors not informed?
😜

Good Luck,
Joe B

Waiting for the Man o\'War - Secretariat match race next up.

Virtual Slew ran his heart out, wish I could see him live. Not too shabby for a $83,000 colt in 2020 dollars arguably still the best ROI in thoroughbred racing history.

Justify had a cameo as the Gallant Fox of the modern era.

Who\'d make a dent in this race from among the Triple Crown near misses?

While it is a bit absurd for me to criticize a virtual gimmick horse race, it seems that Affirmed and a Baffert would have been a pace factor with Slew. Secondly, Secretariat w/b further back than portrayed in this Saturday\'s version.

Apparently, back in Omaha\'s day, Jockeys hadn\'t yet learned the importance of ground loss.

In any event, are we watching the future of horse racing? I prefer the old carnival version of the Classic Names squaring off. The one with the squirt guns.

Oh and I\'m watching a virtual F1 Grand Prix??

Sunday Silence.  And why couldn\'t they have had the virtual race call by a virtual (30 year younger voice of) Tom Durkin.  At least then the call would have been better than the race itself!

LOL on Espinosa. Gave Pharaoh a worse virtual ride then Solis gave Brother Derek in 2006 Derby.
