Anyone else like this one? I think she has a good shot to get back to her top today, which makes her a player at potential double digits odds. She is well drawn and pace should be strong up front to set this up for her. Will use her over the 1, 5, 11 and 14.
Good luck.
I agree with the pace being fast as long as Kamikazee (Serengeti) Empress starts. The difficulty is making up ground @ Oaklawn?
It is fair to predict the 1/2 mile fraction will be sub :47. Street Band won the Cotillion @ Parx into such a pace but in the Azeri here @ OP last out it cooked her. Trainer Jones has the confidence to chase Kamikazee again but today we\'ve got other dragsters too.
Come Dancing has only run one bad race and that in the Breeders Cup. She can motor the 1st half of the race for sure. Add in Cookie Dough and we have all the ingredients of a meltdown.
The M/L price on Street Band is seductive and at anything near the m/l I understand using her. I don\'t know enough about Jockey Sophie Doyle to have confidence in what is likely to be a bob and weave finish?
Queen Nekia the South Florida tourist hasn\'t run a bad race. She hit the gate and had some traffic yet nearly caught Cookie Dough in speed favoring slop last out. At 20/1 with the probability of a $6.00 show price I\'ll use her in a conservative play.
Good Luck - looks to be a fun race.
I agree that the pace could be hot and sometimes in these cases every one pulls back and they let the leader practically walk on the lead as they are afraid to engage. If they let Serengeti Empress cut out similar fractions as last time they will never catch her. However, I think the scenario will be much more like Tavasco described â€" a couple banging heads and setting up it for a late comer. Point of Honor is the best closer in the field and I will eye her comeback race as first off the layoff in a race she did not need to win. I think she is going to be primed today and I really like her is this spot â€" yes she is going to have to pass some good horses, but I think she will be able to do just that.
FWIW - In the 8th a 6F sprint it was the late runners which prevailed?
Agree that POH should run huge. She is the A play underneath.
In the 9th, a 6f sprint, the fillies who were 1-2 after 1/8th mile were 1-2 at the wire?
I\'ll try Ollie\'s Candy, arguably second or third fastest Thorographically, sitting
on the rail. Looks a bit like the same trainer\'s Flagstaff in the 8th--very good
form, all in Cali. Flagstaff blew the break and ran well to be second.
OUCH
Tough beat - richiebee. Thorographically?? Well, if you write it, it must be ok.
Tough beat but nice call on the horse.
I bet this gal in the BC hoping they would do exactly what they did today. Sadler is the one trainer I can\'t win with, but when I ignore him he blows up my tickets.
That one hurt. To pile on what a brutal ride by Lanerie on Degrom in the last race. Loved his tactical speed but Corey buried him in the back. Not the way I wanted to end the day.
