Title: Get Tied On
Post by: TGJB on November 04, 2019, 11:54:24 AM
With the breakdowns accelerating the call for a Lasix ban, I\'ve once again gotten involved.

Piece should run in TDN tomorrow. My usual nuanced (blowtorch) approach.

You are correct Lasix has nothing to do with breakdowns. Injuries are going to happen in horse racing just like they happen in all sports.

I think the problem is with some of the things that are being done to the horses to get them to race. I can\'t tell you which trainers are doing what to the horses but some of the things that they do are not in the best interest of the horse.

This is still a business and people pay a lot of money to trainers to get the horses in the winner circle. Some trainers will try just about anything to improve a horse and get them to run faster. Which could be causing some of the injuries and breakdowns.

Santa Anita did just about everything they could do to not have a horse breakdown during the Breeders Cup. They had a lot of vets checking the horses. They slowed the track surface down.

The best way to curb injuries is to go after the few unscrupulous people that are doing things that are not good for horse racing. I do believe that the majority of the trainers and all the people that take care of the horses truly want what is best for them.

Read your article. Good read. Also read the ARCI\'s report. Started wondering how any intelligent rational person can\'t get their head around the glaring science. Started searching EIPH. Read some really extensive thought provoking info. I also noticed a headline whereby peta referenced lasix the \"dangerous drug\". My opinion? Peta\'s not \"all wet\" regarding their understanding of lasix. Call me paranoid, but i think they want a
\"Demons begone\"scenario.
